Universal Studios Islands of Adventure at Universal, Orlando in Florida is best known as the home of the "Harry Potter theme park" - The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The Wizarding World is by far the most popular section of the park, but there is a lot more to it than just Hogwarts.
The park
Fantastic rides
Islands of Adventure is definitely livelier than Universal Studios, with some fantastic rides.
These are the Hulk roller-coaster, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man (which will be revamped with a new HD film in 2012), Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges and the Jurassic Park River Adventure, which will leave you soaking wet.
Purchasing the fast pass
It is often a good idea to purchase the fast pass, as the queues can be especially long, and you can get the most out of the adventure island experience.
Three roller-coasters
One disappointment comes by the fact that, despite its large size, there are only three roller-coasters in the park. Despite this, the water rides exceed expectations, but they will get you drenched.
Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Of course, if you are a big Harry Potter fan, then Wizarding World of Harry Potter will most likely be your favourite section of the park, and arguably it deserves an entire review of its own.
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
The main ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is hands-down the best theme park ride at the park. The mouse has nothing on it.
Even a tour of Hogwarts is amazing.
Other rides
The other rides in the Wizarding World area are not as thrilling with a
mini roller-coaster (less that one-minute ride time), and the Dragon Challenge is fun, but is ultimately just another small roller-coaster.
Despite this, the main ride and the area itself make up for these shortfalls.
